The rope is to safely and quickly help military personnel descend from the aircraft. The rope hangs from the aircraft and remains still so personnel can descend from heights up to 90 feet. The Spectra fiber has been used in military applications for over 20 years providing lightweight bullet resistance in body armor as well as in armor for vehicles and aircraft.
