In a new interview on the Today Show, Kim Kardashian revealed her pregnancy came as a surprise because she was found to have fertility issues similar to those of her younger sister Khloe Kardashian. Khloe, who has been trying for a baby with husband Lamar Odom for several years, discovered from a fertility specialist that she was not ovulating.
"Khloe has been very open about her fertility issues, and I think I was always really kind of quiet about mine. I have similar issues, and so it was a pleasant surprise when so many doctors were telling me one thing and then the opposite happens,” the 32-year-old explained. “That’s an exciting moment, you can plan for things like that. So I think it’s just such a blessing knowing my circumstances.”
As for plans to marry the father of her baby, rapper Kanye West, Kardashian said they are in no rush. “It’s something that we talk about, but I think it’s just right now (we’re) focusing on the baby,” she said. “What I’ve learned in life is — I was always such a planner, and … you think your life is going to be a certain way, and the best surprises just happen when you don’t plan.”
One thing Kim is planning on doing this year is getting her divorce from Kris Humphries finalized. “It’s a process … It’s happening, hopefully,” she added.
Kardashian and West will welcome their baby in July.
