Sean Lowe and his 19 women enjoyed their first set of dates on last night’s episode of The Bachelor. The coveted one-on-one dates went to Sarah and Desiree, while the group date went to Kristy, Amanda, Brooke, Lesley M., Daniella, Catherine, Robyn, Katie, Selma, Diana, Taryn, Kacie B. and Tierra.
Sarah’s date started with a helicopter ride to the rooftop of a Los Angeles skyscraper. From there Sean and Sarah were strapped into harnesses to freefall 300 feet to the ground where a champagne toast waited. Later at dinner Sarah shared how much the date meant to her. She explained that she once wanted to go zip lining with her father, but wasn’t allowed because she has only one arm. Sarah thanked Sean for having faith in her. Sean ended their date with a rose and a kiss.
For the group date, the ladies are taken by limousine to a mansion where a photo shoot for Harlequin romance novels is set up. Sean greets them at the door and explains the date. Kristy, a model, is ecstatic and is certain she will win the book cover deal promised to the one girl that shows chemistry with Sean. Lesley and Selma came close to winning, but it was Kristy who nailed the photo shoot. At the cocktail party later Sean and Lesley share their first kiss, Tierra shares her discomfort over competing against other girls, Kacie explains why she came back to the show, and Katie decides to go home because she is “excessively uncomfortable.” Sean ends up giving Kacie the rose.
For Desiree’s date, Sean sets up an elaborate prank involving a super expensive piece of art. He takes her to an art gallery where she eventually ends up alone in a room with a sculpture allegedly worth more than $1 million. The sculpture is knocked off of a stand and shatters. Desiree holds back a smile when she tries to convince the artist that she did not touch anything. Sean eventually comes in and admits it was a prank. They leave the gallery to return to Sean’s bachelor pad for dinner. They find common ground in their family values and Desiree gets the rose.
At the cocktail party, Sean must send only two women packing since Katie eliminated herself. He sends community organizer Brooke and single mom Diana out the door.
