NFL Week 3 Schedule: Matt Ryan and Tom Brady Showdown Highlights Sunday Action as Atlanta Falcons Travel to Face New England Patriots

The NFL heads into week three with a handful of teams favored to make deep runs in the playoffs facing what appear to be must-win games. That would include the Tennessee Titans who could face the toughest task of any team as they travel to face the NY Jets at Giants Stadium. The Titans are sitting at 0-2 and could see their season slip away if they can’t manage to knock off the 2-0 Jets who are coming riding high under the leadership of rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez.

While the New England Patriots are 1-1 on the young season there are many questions surrounding the team and Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons could determine what direction the team is heading. Tom Brady struggled against the pass rush against the Jets last week and the Falcons will no doubt look to pressure the three-time Super Bowl champ. As for Matt Ryan, the Falcons signal caller is off to a great sophomore season in the NFL and has paced the Atlanta offense to a 2-0 start.

The Chicago Bears are also facing some pressure when they play on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. Both teams were popular picks to win their division and after Sunday’s game one of them will be 1-2 on the year. Jay Cutler looked solid when he led the Bears past the Steelers last week while the Seahawks were embarrassed by the 49ers and will be looking to bounce back.

The Miami Dolphins find themselves in a familiar 0-2 hole but while they managed to make the playoffs last year following the same start it could be a lot more difficult this year as they face the San Diego Chargers on the road. Miami is coming off a short week following their Monday night loss to the Colts while San Diego is looking to bounce back from a tough loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

There will be plenty of entertaining games on Sunday as well, perhaps the most intriguing being the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Kansas City Chiefs. With Donovan McNabb out for a second week the Eagles have already said they will be featuring Michael Vick in a number of packages. After a two-year absence from the league Vick has had plenty of time to think about getting back on the field and Philly fans are waiting to see if he still has the creative abilities that made his a star in Atlanta.

Drew Brees has already tossed nine touchdowns in two games as his New Orleans Saints are off to a 2-0 start and that arm could be on display again Sunday as they travel to face the Buffalo Bills. The high-powered Saints offense has put up 93 points while the Bills offense has scored the second most in the AFC but both defenses have shown some holes which could lead to a high scoring game.

There will be a lot of attention on Monday night’s game as both the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers are in a virtual must-win situation. The Panthers are 0-2 after being considered possible Super Bowl contenders while the Cowboys are sitting at 1-1 and can’t afford to lose their second home game.
