The following companies fared with mixed results by noon in trading:
Barrick Gold (NYSE: ABX) fell 38 cents, or 1.0 percent, to $36.08.
Gold Fields (NYSE: GFI) rose 12 cents, or .9 percent, to $13.43.
Goldcorp (NYSE: GG) fell 83 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $38.58.
Newmont Mining (NYSE: NEM) fell 52 cents, or 1.2 percent, to $42.76.
