College Football Scores: #1 Florida Gators Crush Kentucky Wildcats, Tim Tebow Knocked Out in Third Quarter

Tim Tebow finished 5/10 passing for 103 yards and a touchdown while adding 123 yards and a pair of TDs on the ground, Jeffery Demps rushed for 97 yards and Aaron Hernandez had 54 yards receiving and a score as the #1 Florida Gators rolled up 495 yards of total offense in a 41-7 blowout of the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday.

Florida made sure to put the game away early as they stunned the Wildcats with 31 points in the opening quarter. Caleb Sturgis got things started with a 22-yard field goal and four minutes later Tebow pounded in a touchdown from two yards out for a 10-0 lead. Just over a minute later the Gators were in front 17-0 after Chris Rainey recovered a blocked punt in the endzone and the rout was on.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats the quarter wouldn’t end in a 17-point deficit as Tebow continued to pour it on, adding his second 2-yard TD run with 2:15 left on the clock and he capped the frame with a 44-yard touchdown toss to Hernandez to make it 31-0 heading into the second quarter.

Kentucky would finally find the endzone late in the second when Ross Bogue hauled in a 2-yard toss from Mike Hartline and that 31-7 score would hold until halftime.

Florida’s offense let up on the Wildcats in the third quarter but may have suffered a serious blow as Tebow was knocked out of the game after being sacked. After remaining motionless on the grass for several minutes he managed to get to his feet and was helped off the field. Early reports said he suffered a concussion and he was taken to a local hospital.

Florida would add a field goal from Sturgis late in the third to push their lead to 34-7 and in the fourth John Brantley, on for Tebow, hit Riley Cooper on an 8-yard touchdown pass to wrap up the scoring.
