NFL Week 3 Scores: Mark Sanchez Tosses Pair of TDS, Runs for Another in NY Jets Victory Over Tennessee Titans

Mark Sanchez finished 17-30 for 171 yards and two touchdowns and added a 14-yard TD run, Jerricho Cotchery had 108 yards receiving and a score and the New York Jets (3-0) took advantage of four turnovers from the Tennessee Titans (0-3) to win 24-17 on Sunday.

Sanchez put the Jets on the board in the opening quarter with his 14-yard touchdown run and less than three minutes later New York boosted their lead to 14-0 when Sanchez hit Ben Hartsock on a 2-yard TD toss.

After a scoreless first quarter the Tennessee offense produced points in the second as LenDale White capped a Titans drive with a 5-yard touchdown run to cut their deficit to 14-7. The Titans would cut into the lead further when Rob Bironas booted a 38-yard field goal just before the half.

Tennessee took their first lead of the game early in the third quarter when Kerry Collins found Nate Washington on a 9-yard touchdown pass to move in front 17-14 but the Jets answered and reclaimed the lead 21-17 when Sanchez and Cotchery hooked up on a 6-yard touchdown pass.

Jay Feely pushed the lead to 24-17 early in the fourth when his 30-yard field goal split the uprights and the Jets defense kept Tennessee’s offense in check the rest of the game.
