Playing without LeBron James proved to be no problem for the Cleveland Cavaliers (26-19) as they routed the Golden State Warriors (21-24) 124.97. The Cavaliers had eight players score in double figures with Sasha Pavlovic leading the pack scoring 24 points. Baron Davis scored 21 points in the Warriors loss. Golden State dropped to 4-16 on the road.
Jaamal Tinsley scored 28 points and Jermaine O’Neal added 25 points and 8 rebounds as the Indiana Pacers (24-21) beat the Boston Celtics (12-32) 103-96. Indiana built a 20 point lead going into the fourth quarter after holding the Celtics to just 13 points in the second and third quarters. The loss was the 12th in a row for Boston
Gilbert Arenas scored 36 points, grabbed 7 boards, and handed out 11 assists to lead the Washington Wizards (27-17) past the Detroit Pistons (25-18) 104-99. Washington jumped to a 12 point lead after the first quarter but had to fight the rest of the way to hold the lead. Chauncey Billups led the Pistons with 24 points.
Dwyane Wade scored 28 points, had 6 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists to help the Miami Heat (20-25) beat the Milwaukee Bucks (18-27) 110-80. The Heat were up by 29 points at halftime and shot 60 percent from the floor in the game. Charlie Villanueva led the Bucks with 17 points.
Eddy Curry scored 27 points and pulled down 9 rebounds while Stephon Marbury finished with 22 points and 7 boards as the New York Knicks (20-17) beat the Los Angeles Lakers (27-18) 99-94. The Lakers were forced to play without Kobe Bryant who was serving a one-game suspension for elbowing Manu Ginobili in Sunday’s game. Lamar Odom led the Lakers with 25 points and 9 rebounds.
Austin Croshere made the most of his 24 minutes, scoring 34 points on 11-14 shooting to lead the Dallas Mavericks (37-9) past the Seattle Supersonics (17-28) 122-102. Croshere was 7-10 from beyond the three-point line and finished the game with 7 rebounds. Dirk Nowitzki finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds in the win. Ray Allen led Seattle with 35 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists.
