A hedge fund executive fell to his death from an
escalator Sunday at The Pier Shops at Caesars in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
James Vellanti, the chief operating officer for JNF Asset Management LLC in New
York, fell from the third floor to the first floor.
Police are investigating the fall, which is the second in
two years at the mall. In August 2008, Frank Gilbert Jr. plunged to his death
from the escalator.
The Pier Shops is connected to Caesars Atlantic City, a
hotel and casino, by a sky bridge.
No other details on Vellanti’s death were available.
