summer, and it hit showrooms this fall.

The 2013 C-MAX marks Ford’s first dedicated lineup of hybrid vehicles and it is taking the competition by storm.
“The C-MAX Hybrid builds on Ford’s 20 years of hybrid innovation and fuel-efficient offerings,” said the Global Product Development vice president, Raj Nair. “C-MAX Hybrid delivers 3 mpg more than Prius v with 50 more horsepower and exclusive technologies such as our hands-free liftgate – and the $1,300-lower base price means the payback period will be the smallest in the segment.”
The 2013 Ford C-MAX is available as both a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid. The 2013 C-MAX Hybrid is powered by a 2.0L Atkinson-Cycle four-cylinder hybrid engine and is capable of returning 47 mpg city and 47 mpg highway while still generating an impressive 141 horsepower and 129 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2013 Ford C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid epitomizes efficiency by returning 108 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) city and 92 MPGe highway.
Toyota’s Prius family of vehicles has long dominated the Hybrid market, but Ford’s C-MAX aims to change that trend by topping its nearest competitor, the Prius v, in nearly every category.
