Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen expects to be ready for next Saturday’s game against Washington after playing a limited role in the Irish’s come-from-behind victory over Purdue over the weekend.
Clausen, who led that comeback victory, has been nursing a toe injury he suffered in Notre Dame’s victory over Michigan State two weeks ago. Coach Charlie Weis has said that the toe has improved significantly, noting that the swelling is down and Clausen no longer has to wear a boot.
Weis will try to get Clausen through next week’s game against Washington and then rest him during the school’s bye-week before they host the USC Trojans.
