Narconon- Drug Education a Hit at Gwinnett County Fair

Thousands Learned About Dangers Of Drug Abuse

The Narconon Drug Rehab booth at the Gwinnett County Fair was a hit. Over three thousand five hundred drug education brochures and flyers were picked up by happy fair-goers.

“We have had tremendous support from the community,” comments Gordon Weinand, Public Relations for Narconon Drug Rehab Georgia. “We had a large white board with a drug free pledge that children were invited to read and sign. They read the pledge to their parents, promising to not use drugs, and were given a prize. We got over 400 signatures, and parents were truly grateful that Narconon Drug Rehab of Georgia took the time to educate children about drug abuse.”

The Gwinnett County Fair was held from September 17, 2009 through September 27, 2009. Thousands attended to visit the carnival, see the exhibits, see the the Exhibits, and cheer at the Miss Gwinnett County Scholarship Pageant.

Many people stopped by the booth Narconon of Georgia had to learn about drug abuse and drug education. Of particular interest were the brochures that described the
signs of alcohol abuse, the signs of marijuana abuse, and the signs of methamphetamine abuse.

“I was interviewed by several radio stations at the event,” comments Mr. Weinand. “and the well- wishers, from local businesses, politicians, teachers, and parents was very appreciative. There has been a lot of press recently about celebrities and drug abuse, and we were glad to offer a solution. The fair gave parents the opportunity to take up a touchy but very important subject: drug abuse and drug addiction.”

Studies have shown that the more parents talk to their children about the dangers of drug abuse, the less likely they are to experiment with drugs.

Narconon is a non-profit drug education, prevention and addiction rehabilitation center, dedicated to teaching children to live clean, drug-free lives.
