Authorities say Lone Star College in Houston, Texas is secure following an on campus shooting that wounded three people. A fourth person reportedly suffered a heart attack.
Two gunmen fired five or six shots at each other this afternoon at the North Harris campus. One gunman was wounded and is currently in custody. The second gunman fled the area and remains at large. Authorities do not believe the second shooter is currently a threat to Lone Star.
"The police believe the danger has been mitigated," said Lone Star spokesman Jed Young. "The school is under control but still being evacuated."
Police reportedly instructed students to put their hands in the air as they exited buildings.
Four schools close to Lone Star College were placed on lockdown as a safety measure. Aldine Independent School District officials identified the schools as Dunn Elementary, Parker Intermediate, Nimitz 9th grade campus and Nimitz High School.
No other details on the shooting were immediately available.
