Warner Robins Mayor Donald Walker Commits Suicide

Warner Robins, Georgia mayor Donald Walker died Monday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.

Walker, 60, was pronounced dead at 1:49 p.m. today after being rushed to The Medical Center of Central Georgia. Authorities were called to Walker’s Hickory Avenue home at 11:09 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots.

Walker, who had been mayor for 15 years, was taken to the Houston Medical Center and then transferred to the Macon hospital where he died of his injuries. No other details were available.

Mayor Pro-tem John Havrilla is now the acting mayor.
