Jack in the Box Inc. (NASDAQ: JACK) said Monday that its president and chief operating officer, Paul Schultz, will retire from his position on Jan. 31, 2010, after 36 years at the company.

Schultz has been COO since 2005 after beginning his career with the company in 1973 as a Jack in the Box crew member in Covina, CA.
