NBA Scores from Jan. 31; Chris Bosh, Kobe Bryant, Gerald Wallace, and Dirk Nowitzki lead their teams to wins.
Joe Johnson scored 33 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and Josh Childress added 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists as the Atlanta Hawks (17-27) beat the Golden State Warriors (21-25) 115-94. Al Harrington led the Warriors with 21 points. Atlanta shot 11-27 from beyond the three-point line while Golden State was a woeful 1-15 from the same distance.
The Orlando Magic (24-22) built a 56-29 lead by the half and cruised past the Milwaukee Bucks (18-28) 98-73. Hedo Turkoglu led the Magic with 17 points and Darko Milicic finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Mo Williams led the Bucks with 23 points in the loss.
Chris Bosh scored 34 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Jose Calderon added 23 points and 11 assists as the Toronto Raptors (23-23) beat the Washington Wizards (27-18) 119-109. Toronto shot 59 percent from the floor and collected 10 more rebounds than the Wizards. They also blocked 8 shots on the night. Gilbert Arenas led the Wizards with 27 points.
Gerald Wallace scored 42 points and had 8 rebounds while Emeka Okafor scored 8 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as the Charlotte Bobcats (17-28) beat the New York Knicks (20-28) 104-87. Raymond Felton added 16 points and 10 assists in the Charlotte victory. Jamal Crawford led the Knicks with 28 points.
Kobe Bryant returned from his one-game suspension and scored 43 points, pulled down 8 boards and dished out 8 assists as the Los Angeles Lakers (28-18) knocked off the Boston Celtics (12-33) 111-98. Ronny Turiaff added 8 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers who sent the Celtics to a franchise-record 13th straight loss. Ryan Gomes led Boston with 23 points and 7 rebounds.
Richard Hamilton scored 24 points and Chauncey Billups added 18 points as the Detroit Pistons (26-18) beat the New Jersey Nets (22-24) 113-89. Antonio McDyess scored 8 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Pistons win. Detroit went to the free-throw line 20 more times than the Nets in the game. Mikki Moore led the Nets with 20 points.
Andre Iguodala scored 22 points, had 9 rebounds, and handed out 7 assists as the Philadelphia 76ers (15-32) beat the NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (19-26) 89-78. Samuel Dalembert scored 9 points and pulled down 15 rebounds and Joe Smith finished with 12 points and 12 boards as Philadelphia out-rebounded the Hornets 58-40. The Hornets had four players score 10 points while Devon Brown led the team with 17.
The Sacramento Kings (18-26) built a 13 point lead at the half and then hung on to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves (22-23) 100-98. Kevin Martin scored 28 points and grabbed 7 rebounds while Brad Miller finished with 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists in the win. Kevin Garnet finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists for Minnesota.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Jason Terry and Jerry Stackhouse added 20 points each to lift the Dallas Mavericks (38-9) past the Memphis Grizzlies (12-35) 95-94. As a team, the Mavericks shot 24-25 from the free-throw line while the Grizzlies finished 17-22 from the charity stripe. Mike Miller led the Grizzlies with 32 points.
Tracy McGrady had 36 points and 9 assists and Dikembe Mutombo added 10 points and 8 boards as the Houston Rockets (29-16) beat the Seattle Supersonics (17-29) 112-102. Ray Allen scored 36 points for Seattle and Nick Collison finished with 25 points and 17 rebounds in the loss.
Mehmet Okur scored 31 points and had 11 rebounds while Paul Millsap added 15 points and 8 boards as the Utah Jazz (30-17) beat the San Antonio Spurs (32-15) 97-93. Tim Duncan had 25 points and 12 rebounds and Tony Parker scored 27 points in the Spurs loss. Utah out-rebounded San Antonio 50-32.
Zach Randolph scored 26 points and grabbed 17 rebounds while Brandon Roy added 25 points and 8 assists as the Portland Trail Blazers (20-27) beat the Denver Nuggets (22-21) 100-91. The loss was the fourth in a row for Denver. Carmelo Anthony led the Nuggets with 33 points.
Elton Brand scored 26 points and had 9 rebounds while Sam Cassell and Tim Thomas each had 18 points and the Los Angeles Clippers () beat the Chicago Bulls () 110-98. Cassell finished with 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Thomas added 10 rebounds to his line in the win. Kirk Hinrich scored 25 points and handed out 10 assists for the Bulls.
