"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the seventh and last installment in one of the most successful book series of all time, will hit the shelves on July 21 according to author J.K. Rowling.
Having already sold more than 325 million copies of the first six books, the highly anticipated “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” could shatter publishing records.
It has been 10 years since “Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone,” renamed “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” in the U.S., debuted. Rowling had her book rejected by eight publishers before Bloomsbury offered to publish the manuscript.
In the ten years since Harry Potter entered pop culture the franchise has been estimated to be worth more than $4 billion and has turned the once homeless Rowling into a billionaire herself.
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is expected to have a retail price of $34.99. Bloomsbury is also planning on releasing several different editions of the book.
