Michigan Insurance Crisis – More Self Employed Seek Answers

Local Benefits Coach Offers Open Forum For Q&A

Royal Oak, MI – Self employed people in Michigan need fast answers when it comes to health care coverage. The unemployment rate in the state of Michigan has reached a staggering 16% and many are not returning to the job force. Many unemployed residents are starting up their own businesses and taking the entrepreneur route. Taking this road can be a rough transition. This is the case with picking out great health care coverage.  Now they can get straight forward advice from a local benefit coach in the field of health and medical care.

Many Michigan residents are in a state of transition of being in between jobs. A lot of our citizens are living on unemployment checks and are in a state of “what to do”. That is why it is so important to understand your options and to search for workable solutions. Cobra can be very expensive for someone who is out of work. As more people fall into this bracket there is a growing need to look for something better.

“The worst thing you can do as a self employed person is to stop looking for a solution. You still need basic health care, a good dental plan and will need to be treated in case of an accident. We are hoping to show Michigan citizens that being out of work is not a bad thing and they have options. The more informed you can be about your options – the better off you will be.” Says Pat Wilks, the owner of Affordable Health Insurance.

Pat Wilks spends a lot of time on the road informing S.E. Michigan people about benefits, options and coverage. His group specializes in group policies, single coverage,  families, dental and much more. He is a walking encyclopedia of information.

“The idea to do the tour this fall was to inform people about choice and options. Right now we have created a series of online videos that will inform our attendees about what they can do to protect themselves. This is very important as our numbers of self employed people continue to rise. We have several free workshops planned and will be touring through S.E. Michigan answering questions and showing people what they can do to get the right  plan that will work the best for them.”

You can check out Pat Wilks live in person this Thursday as he delivers his FREE no obligation Q&A in Royal Oak, MI. Pat will be meeting with a limited number of guests, first come – standing room only, at Caribou Coffee located on 401 S Main St, Royal Oak, MI 48067.
