The unemployment status has reached a whopping 16% and 45,000 people have left the state last year. Yet there are a lot of opportunities here in the state of Michigan and local business developer Ted Cantu has teamed up with local benefits coach Patrick Wilks to talk about them in a live Q&A.
Many unemployed Michigan residents have given up on looking for work and have picked up the entrepreneurial spirit. These new businesses are the life force of our states economy. So in addition to the health care coverage Q&A, Ted Cantu will join Pat Wilks by handing out a free video web commercial to all attending Michigan business owners. These videos will showcase Michigan businesses on sites such as YouTube.com where they will find a viewing audience of 100 milion views a day.

“The worst thing you can do as a self employed person is to stop looking for a solution. You still need basic health care, a good dental plan and will need to be treated in case of an accident. We are hoping to show Michigan citizens that being out of work is not a bad thing and they have options. “The idea to do the tour this fall was to inform people about choice and options. Right now we have created a series of online videos that will inform our attendees about what they can do to protect themselves. This is very important as our numbers of self employed people continue to rise. We have several free workshops planned and will be touring through S.E. Michigan answering questions and showing people what they can do to get the right plan that will work the best for them.” Says Pat.
