Drama in the Bachelor mansion heated up this week with Tierra threatening to leave the show, Sarah doubting her ability to participate in a date, Amanda making a trip to the hospital for a possible jaw fracture, and Leslie losing out on the rose on her one-on-one date.
The episode kicks off with Sean picking Selma up in a limo for her first one-on-one date. The limo arrives at an airport where the couple boards a private plane for a short trip to the desert. From there they take a jeep to Joshua Tree National Park where Sean finally reveals their activity for the day – rock climbing. Selma is less than thrilled about the heat and the climb, but she keeps her reservations to herself and is soon comfortable with the climbing. Later at dinner Selma questions Sean about his single state. Sean reveals that he was serious with a girl a few years ago, but didn’t see marriage with her so he ended the relationship. Selma then opens up about her Muslim upbringing and the strict rules her culture puts on dating. She also refuses to kiss Sean because her mother would “literally have a heart attack.” Sean gives Selma the date rose.
For the group date, Sean meets Catherine, Sarah, Amanda, Lindsay, AshLee, Tierra, Robyn and Jackie for a roller derby. The ladies have a hard time even standing in their skates. Sarah has it twice as hard because having only one arm makes it difficult for her to balance and support her body. After a pep talk from Sean, Sarah is ready to give the roller derby a try, but then Amanda takes a nasty spill. She apparently landed on her chin and a paramedic believes she may have a broken or fractured jaw. While Amanda is en route to the hospital, Sean calls off the roller derby and suggests a free skate instead. Later at the poolside cocktail party Tierra has finally had enough of playing nice with the other girls. She storms around declaring she is ready to leave and demands a sit down with Sean. Tierra’s tantrum ends up earning Sean’s sympathy and the date rose.
Leslie scores the second one-on-one date. Her date card arrives with a pair of diamond earrings and Leslie expects a “Pretty Woman” type of date. Sean picks her up in a sports car and takes her to a fancy store to pick out a dress, heels and purse. He then surprises her with a trip to Neil Lane to borrow a 120-carat diamond necklace. Over dinner Leslie shares her desire for a strong marriage and a family, but Sean just isn’t feeling it with her. He sends her packing.
Amanda is the only girl eliminated at the rose ceremony.
