Stantec Appoints Rich Allen as Chief Operating Officer

 

Stantec (NYSE: STN) has appointed Rich Allen as the Chief Operating Officer of the company. Rich Allen’s term will begin January 1, 2010. Allen is currently working as senior vice president and managing leader of the firm’s operations in the eastern half of the US. Mark Jackson, the current COO will be retiring at the end of the year and has served in this position since 2007.

Allen first became part of the Stantec team through the acquisition of engineering firm Dufresne-Henry, where he served as President and CEO. AS leader of the US East Region for Stantec, he helped to more than triple the firm’s presence in the East as they expanded into New York City, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois and other areas.

 

Rich Allen received a degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1976. He also holds a Master of Science degree in the same field from the University of Washington. He received his Juris Doctor from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1985. For 17 years he practiced law with Gadsby Hannah serving as an associate, partner and leader of the firm’s national design and construction law practice group.
