In this week's Novus Medical Detox Center Newsletter entitled “I Heard the Owl Call Their Names”, Novus Director, Steve Hayes, explained how OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma used how terrible (dangerous) their current version of legal heroin is to justify making only incremental changes to their drug because even these changes might save lives. It was an affront to any rational person but Purdue has no shame.
Mr. Hayes explains how their reformulation is not tamper proof at all and will likely lead to an increasing number of deaths from OxyContin—legal heroin.
Mr. Hayes is calling for the FDA to make this company, convicted of a felony of lying to the FDA, the public, and doctors about the addictive qualities of OxyContin in 2007, actually prove that their reformulated product will not be marketed by Purdue's sales representatives as a “safe” form of OxyContin. This is what the media is already saying.
