NFL News: Derek Anderson Named Cleveland Browns Starter for Cincinnati Bengals Game

The Brady Quinn experiment lasted two and a half games and after the Cleveland Browns posted an 0-3 mark in those games head coach Eric Mangini announced Derek Anderson would be taking the snaps as starter in Sunday’s showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Quinn was elevated to starter over Anderson after the preseason but after less than impressive performances in his first three games Mangini has opted to bench the former Notre Dame star. Quinn had just one touchdown pass while tossing three interceptions as a starter but Anderson hasn’t fared any better. When he came on in the second half of last Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens he threw three interceptions while posting a 30.9 passer rating.

Mangini will have to hope that Anderson returns to the form he displayed in 2007 when he was named to the Pro Bowl.
