NHL Scores from Feb. 1; Vincent Lecavalier, Evgeni Malkin, Chris Drury, and Johan Holmqvist lead their teams to wins

Yanic Perreault scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and the Phoenix Coyotes (24-26-2) beat the Nashville Predators (36-14-3) 3-2. Jeremy Roenick scored a goal and had an assist while Shane Doan added the tying goal in the third period for the Coyotes. Steve Sullivan scored a goal and added an assist for Nashville.

Jozef Stumple scored two goals and had an assist and Martin Gelinas added two goals of his own to lead the Florida Panthers (20-23-10) past the Washington Capitals (21-24-7) 6-3. Chris Clark cut the Washington deficit to 2-1 in the first period but Florida countered with three goals in the second to take hold of the game.

Marian Gaborik scored two goals and added an assist as the Minnesota Wild (28-21-4)) beat the Colorado Avalanche (25-22-4) 5-3. Marek Svatos tied the game at 3-3 in the second period but Gaborik put the Wild in front in the third and Mikko Koivu added an empty netter.

The Pittsburgh Penguins (25-17-8) blew a 4-2 lead in the third period but beat the Montreal Canadiens (28-18-6) in a shootout 5-4. Evgeni Malkin had a goal and an assist and scored in the shootout for the Penguins while Sergei Gonchar scored two goals and added an assist in the win. Radek Bonk scored twice for the Canadiens.

Chris Drury scored a pair of goals in the second period to lift the Buffalo Sabres (35-14-4) past the Boston Bruins (22-24-4) 3-1. Marco Sturm scored for the Bruins in the first period but Martin Biron denied the other 33 shots he faced to give Buffalo the win. Daniel Briere added two assists for the Sabres

Johan Holmqvist stopped all 31 shots he faced to record his first NHL shutout giving the Tampa Bay Lightning (28-23-2) a 4-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes (26-22-6). Vincent Lecavalier scored a goal and had an assist while Martin St. Louis finished with the same scoring line.

Brad Luckowich scored the game-winner in overtime to give the New Jersey Devils (31-15-6) a 6-5 win over the Philadelphia Flyers (12-32-7). Zach Parise scored the game-tying goal with 32 seconds remaining in the third period for the Devils. Travis Zajac had a pair of goals in the win for New Jersey. Alexandre Picard finished with five assists for Philadelphia.

The New York Islanders (24-21-6) scored three times in just over six minutes in the third period to beat the Atlanta Thrashers (29-17-8) 5-2. Viktor Kozlov scored two goals and an assist for the Islanders and Miroslav Satan had a goal and a pair of assists in the win. Jeff Tambellini had three assists for New York.

The Vancouver Canucks (29-19-4) scored three goals in the third period to beat the Edmonton Oilers (25-23-4) 5-3. Brendan Morrison had a pair of assists for the Canucks while Markus Naslund scored a goal and had an assist in the win. Mart Reasoner had a goal and an assist for Edmonton.

Lasse Kukkonen scored a minute into overtime to lift the Chicago Blackhawks (19-25-7) past the Los Angeles Kings (17-30-7) 3-2. Martin Havlat scored a goal and an assist for Chicago while Jeff Hamilton added a goal as well. Alexander Frolov and Jamie Lundmark each scored for the Kings.

The Dallas Stars (31-19-2) scored twice in the first period and added a goal in the second and third period to beat the San Jose Sharks (33-18-1) 4-2. Joel Lundqvist scored in the opening minute for the Stars but Mark Bell answered 30 seconds later with the equalizer. Stu Barnes then put Dallas back in front for good with a goal 15 minutes into the first period.
