Mandy Moore, the 22-year-old actress/singer matches up with 61-year-old Oscar winner Diane Keaton in the new comedy “Because I Said So” debuting today.
Keaton plays the mother of Moore, and in an attempt to prevent her daughter from making the same mistakes she made, only makes matters worse.
The story unfolds when Daphne Wilder, played by Keaton, places an ad on an online dating site for her youngest daughter, Milly, played by Moorer. Daphne then interviews prospective suitors for her daughter before settling on a rich architect from LA.
Daphne then goes about setting her unknowing daughter up with her choice, Jason, played by Tom Everett Scott. But while Daphne is busy arranging that encounter, a rejected respondent, John, played by Gabriel Macht takes in interest in Milly.
Of course Milly remains in the dark about how she has had the good fortune to meet two men after spending much of her time alone.
Diane Keaton won an Oscar in 1978 for Best Actress in a Leading Role in “Annie Hall.” Mandy Moore won an MTV Award for Breakthrough Female Performance for her role in “A Walk to Remember” in 2002.
