PulteGroup, Inc. (NYSE:PHM) reported fourth-quarter net income more than quadrupled as the homebuilder continued to get an increase in new orders and higher home prices. Its adjusted results and revenue are above analysts' expectations. For the three months ended Dec. 31, the company earned $58.7 million, or 15 cents per share. That's up from $13.8 million, or 4 cents per share, a year prior.
However, in the last trading session, PulteGroup, Inc. (NYSE:PHM) went down -1.47% to close at 20.74 and its total traded volume was 17.69 million shares.
Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY) shares jumped after its fourth quarter results exceeded analysts’ estimates. Its pro forma earnings were $1.83, above the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.66. Occidental's pro forma earnings for full-year 2012 of $7.09 per share have beaten the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $6.93. Occidental's quarterly revenue rose 2.3% year over year to $6.2 billion.
Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY) gained +3.46% and closed at $88.27 with the overall traded volume of 13.90 million shares. OXY has market cap of 71.51 billion.
The Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE:BX) reported a fourth quarter net income of $106.41 million, or 19 cents per share. Economic net income increased to $669.98 million, or 59 cents per share, from $468.15 million, or 42 cents per share, from a previous year. On Thursday, January 31st, The Blackstone Group L.P. also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.42 per share payable on Tuesday, February 19th.
The Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE:BX) reported the gain of +6.08% and closed at $18.50 with the total traded volume of 11.95 million shares.
