Retired Col. George Satterthwaite II Returns to Close-Up Talk Radio

Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights Col. George Satterthwaite II (Ret.)

Fort Washington, MD – Returning to Close-Up Talk Radio is the proud and always community-oriented Colonel George Satterthwaite II (Ret.). After sharing his illustrious career of over 30 years experience with the United States Army, traveling the world, and earning countless accolades and awards, Colonel Satterthwaite returns to discuss how he has maintained his dedication to the service and the community.

As many people struggle with what to do in retirement, Satterthwaite certainly has no trouble filling his time as he has been approached by numerous organizations to take part in. Among the organizations which Satterthwaite volunteers with are the Sons of the American Revolution, the Alumni Executive Board of the Sidwell Friends School, the Executive Board of the Piscataway Hills Citizens Association, Wreaths Across America, and the Secondary School Admissions Committee of the University of Pennsyvlania.

Satterthwaite takes great pride in his role with each organization as they all incorporate key aspects of his life… serving his country and community. With Sons of the American Revolution, Satterthwaite had to do extensive research to trace his ancestry back to a relative who served in the American Revolution. The purpose of this non-profit organization is to maintain institutions of freedom, appreciate patriotism, show value for patriotism, and unify people. Satterthwaite acts as a chairman for the junior ROTC program in the state of Maryland within the organization.

With the amazing non-profit organization of Wreaths Across America, Satterthwaite and his volunteer staff have successfully enabled people to send and place wreaths at the Cheltenham Veteran’s Cemetery in Cheltenham, Maryland. This service has expanded to cemeteries and memorials in all fifty states as a way to honor fallen veterans during the Christmas season.

Satterthwaite’s dedication to his community is displayed through his positions with the Alumni Executive Board of the Sidwell School, the Executive Board of the Piscataway Hills Citizens Association, and the Secondary School Admissions Committee of the University of Pennsylvania. In each organization, Satterthwaite works with people to handle any and every area in need of improvement. From fundraising to neighborhood watch, coordinating group events to group meetings, Satterthwaite takes part in all steps to maintaining a positive environment. In his work with the Secondary School Admissions Committee of the University of Pennsylvania, Satterthwaite interviews high achieving students from lower than average achieving schools and grants recommendations to the board for acceptance into the University of Pennsylvania.

“All of the organizations I’m a part of give me tremendous satisfaction and pride. I feel truly honored to be doing what I can to serve my community and my country,” exclaims Satterthwaite.

Colonel George Satterthwaite II (Ret.) will be continuing his feature on Close-Up Talk Radio in a two-part feature with host Doug Llewelyn at www.blogtalkradio.com/closeuptalkradio on Tuesday February 5th at Tuesday February 12th.
