College Football News: Notre Dame to Unveil Bronze Sculpture of Knute Rockne

Notre Dame will pay tribute to the most successful football coach in the school’s history when they unveil a bronze sculpture of Knute Rockne on Friday.

The sculpture of Rockne will be situated just outside Notre Dame Stadium not far from another coaching legend, Frank Leahy. Notre Dame was credited with six national championships during Rockne’s 13-year tenure, a period in which he posted a 105-12-5 mark.

Rockne’s .881 winning percentage in the best in college football history.

Rockne was just 41-years-old when he was killed in a plane crash in 1931.
