Shakira is one proud mom! The Colombian singer showed off her newborn son Milan on Tuesday on her UNICEF website. The picture shows Shakira’s boyfriend Gerard Pique kissing the sleeping 2-week-old. In honor of Milan’s birth, UNICEF is accepting $5 to $110 donations for needy children.
“We hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations,” Shakira and Piqué wrote. “Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us.”
Shakira, 36, gave birth to Milan on January 22 in Barcelona, Spain. “The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification. Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth,” the singer said in a statement on her website.
Milan is the first child for Shakira and 26-year-old Pique. Pique is a center-back for Spanish soccer team FC Barcelona.
