Dennis Hopper has been released from hospital.

The ‘Easy Rider’ actor, who was taken to a New York medical centre on Wednesday (30.09.09) after suffering stomach problems, was treated for dehydration and then released.

 

His manager Sam Maydew confirmed: “Dennis is now back in his hotel room and feeling much better.

 

Dennis would like to thank everyone for their will wishes and he looks forward to getting back to work.

”

It was initially reported the 73-year-old star was suffering from flu-like symptoms, but further details of his illness have not been released.

 

Dennis was in New York to promote his new TV series ‘Crash’, which is based on the 2004 Oscar-winning movie about racial and social tensions in Los Angeles. He plays music producer Ben Cendars.

 

The actors illness has forced him to cancel a number of TV appearances and promotional interviews about the show.

 

Dennis is due to begin filming dark comedy ‘A Beginners Guide to Endings’ - about three brothers who try to rectify the mistakes they have made in their lives when they discover they are about to die – alongside J.K. Simmons, Tricia Helfer and Scott Caan.
