Adam Levine Creates Fragrance With ID Perfumes

Apparently, Adam Levine no longer believes that celebrities having their own fragrances is an offense “punishable by death.” The Maroon 5 frontman is following in the footsteps of countless other celebrities and releasing an eponymous fragrance line. The so-called “masterbrand” will include scents for both men and women.

The women’s sent has a vanilla base with hints of rose, jasmine and sandalwood. The men’s scent includes lemongrass, grapefruit, mandarin sandalwood, cedar wood and amber. ID Perfumes describes the fragrances as “confident, deeply seductive and timeless." Both bottles are shaped like a microphone.

"Both fragrances were shaped by Adam's discerning nose, while the bottles and packaging reflect his particular aesthetic sensibilities,” explained ID Perfumes Chairman and Chief Executive Ilia Lekach. “This debut fragrance collection is everything a signature scent should be: both a portrait and extension of the brand itself."

Levine says he was aiming for “understated and elegant” when creating the scents. “I wanted to do something understated and elegant -- something that people I revere in that world, like Tom Ford, would do, and something I’d be attracted to,” he says.

The Voice coach wasn’t always a fan of celebrity fragrances. “I also would like to put an official ban on celebrity fragrances. Punishable by death from this point forward,” he tweeted in 2011.

Levine’s fragrances will hit Macy’s stores in the U.S. later this month. Price points range from $35 to $65.
