David Lee Roth Reunites with Van Halen for Summer Tour.
David Lee Roth will be reuniting with a familiar cast this summer when he fronts for the scheduled Van Halen U.S. tour. Roth hasn’t toured with Van Halen for more than 20 years after a less than pleasant split in 1984.
Van Halen rose to fame with the eccentric Roth as their frontman in the late ‘70s and early 1980s but his over-the-top ego caused friction amongst his band mates. Roth embarked on a solo tour while Van Halen picked up Sammy Hagar as their new lead singer.
The solo career didn’t go so well for Roth and while Van Halen had plenty of commercial success with Hagar, true fans of the rock group became disenchanted with the path they were going.
Van Halen was wile b inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12. Many of their accomplishments and achievements that led to the induction took place with Roth in the band. While no dates have been set, teh Van Halen tour will include 40 U.S. cities.
