Kim Kardashian is so desperate to end her marriage to Kris Humphries immediately that she is attempting to use her unborn child with boyfriend Kanye West to get the job done. In recently filed court papers, Kardashian claims that her health as well as the health of her child should be considered.
"I am currently pregnant by a man with whom I began a relationship well after I separated from (Humphries),” she states. "I firmly believe that an immediate dissolution of our marriage will help create a new, full life for me. One chapter will be officially over, and a new one can begin. The same should hold true for (Humphries)."
"I am requesting the status of my marriage be determined for now for not only my health and welfare but also for the health and well-being of my unborn child,” she says, adding that she does not “want to be married to (Humphries) when I have my baby” in July.
The 32-year-old also uses her finances as a reason to immediately dissolve the marriage. "I should not be constrained in my financial and social endeavors by the fact that (Humphries) and I have a marriage which now exists in name only," Kardashian states. "I do not want the status of my marriage to affect any investment I wish to make, such as the purchase of a new residence."
Humphries fired back and accused the reality star of using her pregnancy to gain a “litigation advantage.” "What is really going on here is that an 'urgency' in the form of an apparently unplanned pregnancy, something [Humphries] had nothing to do with, is perceived by [Kim] as an opportunity to gain a litigation advantage by trying to force this court to prematurely set this matter for trial,” Humphries lawyer wrote in court documents.
"Indeed, why would [Kim] plan to get pregnant in the midst of divorce proceedings?" he added.
Kardashian and Humphries had been married for just 72 days when Kardashian filed for divorce in October 2011. Humphries is seeking an annulment on the grounds of fraud.
