Still struggling to cope with the suicide of her longtime boyfriend last month, troubled singer Mindy McCready has reportedly been committed to a treatment facility by an Arkansas judge. E! News reports an emergency hearing was called Wednesday because family members were concerned about McCready’s mental health and alcohol abuse. Family services temporarily removed McCready’s sons Zander, 6, and Zayne, 9 months, from her care.
“Family members sought to have Mindy committed to a mental-health facility and there was an emergency hearing today,” an insider told E! news Wednesday. “They just got out of court a little while ago and the judge committed her for up to 21 days.”
McCready’s family has not commented.
The country singer’s boyfriend of 2-years, songwriter David Wilson, committed suicide at his Herber Springs, Arkansas home on January 13. He was 34.
"I've never gone through anything this painful," McCready said in a recent interview on the Today show. "He didn't just touch my heart, he touched my soul."
Wilson is Zayne’s father. Zander is McCready’s son with country singer Billy McKnight.
