Alliant Techsystems Receives a Three-Year Contract from U.S. Army to Supply Non-Standard Ammunition for Afghan Security Forces

Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) has received a three year contract from the U.S. Army Sustainment Command to supply various types of non standard ammunition for the security forces of Afghanistan. The initial payment for the contract was $105 million. If all options are fully exercised the value of the contract could exceed $200 million. This is the second contract awarded to ATK from the U.S. Army to supply non-standard ammunition for Afghan security forces. The first $87 million contract was announced in December 2008.
