Diem Brown’s cancer is once again in remission! The MTV star tells Us Weekly magazine that she is “still shaking” after receiving the good news from her doctors.
"I can't describe the feeling of doctors telling you your cancer is gone -- especially when you were told this day more than likely would never come. I love it when those doctors are wrong,” the 30-year-old says.
"I could not be more excited," the Challenge star tells Us Weekly. "I can't stop smiling from ear to ear. I feel so free, like I have my life as my own again."
Brown was just 23-years-old when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2005. She beat the disease, but it returned again last summer. "I know I will be fine," she tweeted at the time. "I beat Cancer once & I'm gonna do it again! I know God has a reason for every speed bump in life & I'm ready."
In her latest blog for People.com, Brown admits that while she is celebrating remission, there is “no actual test to give me that gives me the 100 percent cancer-free assurance that I had back in 2006.” “I have done every treatment the doctor has ordered, done every test, every scan and with these clear liver results, I have faith that my treatment worked,” she writes.
“I'm confident in my "cancer-free version" even without a test that exactly proves so. I am celebrating this moment and am ecstatic to say I'm in remission!” she adds. “I may have a few treatments here and there but I'm done with the fear ... I beat the sucker once again!”
