University Of Minnesota Graduates Company, WOODCHUCKcase, Release New Line of Phone Cases

University of Minnesota Graduates, Ben VandenWymelenberg and Kevin Groenjes, have created a new line of phone cases for their company,WOODCHUCKcase. Unlike the previous protective wood skins, the Limitless line is a fully protective case of recycled aluminum and plastic, still featuring thereal wood side and back panels. All of the cases are made entirely in Minneapolis.

VandenWymelenberg and Groenjes are also working on a partnership with Minnesota’s Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center in order to bring nature back to kids’ lives through outdoor activities and State Park trips. The partnership would likely start with the company giving their time to run trips and will move to the donation of funds for trips once the company resources allow for it.

“We want to be the face of change,” VandenWymelenberg said.

“That change is USA made products; it’s putting nature back into people’s lives,” Groenjes said.

The duo is in talks with Minnesota-based companies Target and Best Buy, looking to get their products in retail stores. WOODCHUCKcase has products being sold in Australia and South Korea.

“We’re not just skins,” VandenWymelenberg said. “We’re stepping up to play ball with Belkin, to play ball with Incase.”

About WOODCHUCKcases
The company was founded in March 2012 by VandenWymelenberg and Groenjes. The idea was to take their passion for the outdoors and bring it to people’s everyday lives by putting it on electronics.
