Don’t expect to see Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood anywhere near each other this Sunday at the Grammys. According to an insider, show planners were instructed to prevent Swift and Underwood from “crossing paths” at any point during the show. The source claims Swift, 23, and Underwood, 29, “hate each other.”
"Taylor feels Carrie is always rude to her, so she steers clear of her,” the source tells Us Weekly magazine.
The feud may have started because Underwood mocked Swift last year while hosting the Country Association Awards with Brad Paisley. The pair poked fun at Swift’s split from Connor Kennedy.
“The greatest trade of the year had to be the Kennedy family. They somehow traded Arnold Schwarzenegger for Taylor Swift. I mean, what they got for that . . ." Paisley joked.
When Underwood informed him that the pair had split, Paisley said, "What? Why don't I ever hear about these things? I'm the last one to know. Are they ever gonna get back together?"
Underwood then mocked Swift’s hit song 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.’ "Never, never, never. Never ever,” she replied.
The American Idol alum later admitted to Allure magazine that she has never been close to Swift. “I'm not close to her,” she said. “We run into each other at events. We’re never in the same place at the same time.”
Neither Swift nor Underwood has commented on the latest rumors.
Swift is set deliver the opening performance for the Grammys. "Oh my god, it's Grammy week, it's so hectic. I have a lot to plan for with the opening performance and I'm just really hoping all the pieces come together this week. Because this is when it really gets really crazy, but it's all very exciting too," she recently told Ryan Seacrest.
Swift plans to perform ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,’ which is nominated for Record of the Year. “I think you should perform the song that's nominated," she explained. “Like, if you got a song nominated for Record of the Year, you might as well perform that. It's a big hint."
