Actor Ryan O’Neal was arrested on Saturday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after getting into an argument with his 42-year-old son Griffin. Police arrived at the Oscar nominated actor’s residence after O’Neal allegedly fired at least one gunshot.
The 65-year-old O’Neal was released on $50,000 bail.
There was been no word on what caused the argument between the father and son but a third party was injured in the scuffle. A 22-year-old female friend of Griffin was transported to an area hospital but it was not known how the injury occurred.
O’Neal was nominated for an Academy Award for his lead role in the 1971 film “Love Story.”
