Lady Gaga says she is “devastated” that synovitis, or severe inflammation of the joints, is forcing her to cancel concerts this week in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, Canada. The singer begged fans for their forgiveness in a post on Facebook.
“There’s an unfortunate announcement coming out right now, concerning myself and the Born This Way Ball. I’m so sorry. I barely know what to say. I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened,” she explains. “I’ve been praying it would heal. I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last night’s performance I could not walk and still can’t. To the fans in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself.”
In a Twitter message the 26-year-old added, "I'm devastated and sad. It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and I'm sorry."
Gaga has 14 more stops on the tour. It is set to wrap up on March 20 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
