Manning will play despite inflamed tissue

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning suffered soreness and swelling in the heel and arch area on the bottom of his foot. The injury was most likely caused when Manning got up on his toes as he dropped back and attempted to pass to Steve Smith in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game in Kansas City.  After the MRI Russell Warren who is the team physician gave him clearance to play the Oakland Raiders over the weekend.  Eli manning will play if he can tolerate the pain.   Unfortunately for Manning this is an injury that develops over time and lingers.  We hope Manning has a speedy and healthy recovery.
