Kim Kardashian and Kanye West inadvertently delayed a flight on Tuesday morning when a TSA employee helped them skip a security checkpoint at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. The couple had just landed from Brazil and was boarding a connecting flight to Los Angeles. They were removed from the plane for a private security check.
A TSA spokesman says an employee “escorted the two travelers through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight.” “In doing so, the airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travelers to bypass the TSA security checkpoint,” the spokesperson added.
Kardashian, 32, and West, 35, were cleared to board after the private screening. The incident delayed the flight for about an hour.
Kardashian, who is pregnant with her first child with West, is still in an ongoing divorce battle with estranged husband Kris Humphries. The Brooklyn Nets star is seeking an annulment on the grounds of fraud while Kardashian is pushing for a divorce. The pair had been married for just 72 days when Kardashian filed for divorce in October 2011. Humphries has accused her of only marrying him for publicity.
