StormTrap and Utility Concrete Products Announce Retirement of Philip Burkhart

After a 30-year career President of StormTrap and Vice-President of Utility Concrete Products, Philip Burkhart, announces his retirement

Utility Concrete Products, LLC and StormTrap, LLC announced that Philip Burkhart, President of StormTrap and Vice-President of Utility Concrete Products, has retired. Burkhart officially retired on December 31, 2012, after an impressive 30-year career.

Burkhart started his relationship with Utility Concrete Products by providing electrical contracting services to the company. He was later officially hired on as a Sales Engineer in 1985 and progressed from Utility Concrete Products’ Sales Manager to Vice-President in 1993. He played an integral role in the development of StormTrap, a precast stormwater management system. This led to the inception of StormTrap, LLC in 2002. Burkhart was named President of StormTrap in 2002, a role he held until retirement. During his career, both companies saw remarkable growth under his leadership.

“Philip has been an instrumental partner in the companies’ growth and we wish him the best as he begins his retirement,” said Russ Hawken, owner of Utility Concrete Products and StormTrap. “He will be greatly missed by his friends and co-workers.”

Philip has been an active member in the precast concrete industry and from 2002 to 2009 served on the Board of Directors for the National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA); an international trade association representing manufacturers of plant produced precast concrete products. He was elected Chairman of the Board for the 2007-2008 year.

“I wish Utility Concrete Products and StormTrap continued success and will be in the bleachers now cheering them on.  These are great companies with a great future,” stated Burkhart.
