The Kim Kardashian – Kris Humphries divorce just got more complicated. Humphries’ California divorce attorney Marshall Waller has filed a motion to be removed from the case due to an “irremediable breakdown of the attorney-client relationship.” No other details on the “breakdown” of the relationship were available.
It appears the hearing on Waller’s request will be held late next month, which will likely delay the divorce proceedings further. If Waller is removed from the case, Humphries will have to hire another California lawyer immediately.
Humphries’s split from Waller came just one day before his joint court appearance with Kardashian. Kardashian’s attorney Laura Wasser is expected to request a March trial date in the hearing today. In previous court papers Kardashian sighted her pregnancy and the health of her unborn child with boyfriend Kanye West as reasons for the immediate dissolution of her marriage. "I am requesting the status of my marriage be determined for now for not only my health and welfare but also for the health and well-being of my unborn child,” she said, adding that she does not “want to be married to (Humphries) when I have my baby” in July.
Humphries wants the trial to be put off until after the NBA basketball season is over. He is a power forward for the Brooklyn Nets.
Kardashian and Humphries had been married for just 72 days when Kardashian filed for divorce in October 2011. Humphries is demanding an annulment on the grounds of fraud.
