Medical Treatments Prevent Anxiety Disorders

Medical Treatments, anxiety disorders, fibromyalgia symptoms, candida and gout remedies are some of the treatment related articles at http://www.christianet.com/treatment/.

ChristiaNet.com (http://www.christianet.com), the world's largest Christian portal with twelve million monthly page loads, has just launched a directory of health related articles and there is a series of articles devoted to mental health disorders included in the directory.   "We want people who deal with the unique struggles associated with emotional and mental health challenges to have access to the latest information available," explained ChristiaNet's president, Bill Cooper.  "From research we've learned that anxiety disorders are increasing and we want to be proactive in equipping the public with knowledge, giving them the tools to make good decisions about medical treatments and about therapy."  (http://www.christianet.com/treatment/)

Research is showing that in recent years the number of diagnosed anxiety disorders has risen.  Two explanations given for the increase include a more astute awareness of mental health issues and an increase of cultural stresses.  The term anxiety covers a broad spectrum and can range from uneasiness about an upcoming event to chronic, exaggerated worry with unrealistic fears about the future.

The difference between generalized states of anxiety and a clinical diagnosis of the disorder may be the level of intensity.  Most people experience some form of anxiety in the natural course of life, but chronic anxiety disorders can disrupt normal function.  Anxiety can have a negative effect on the body as well, requiring severe cases to seek medical treatments.  Many who have been diagnosed suffer from co morbid diagnosis including depression, nervousness, and an entire host of physical ailments.

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) states that anxiety disorders can be treated with both antidepressants and antianxiety drugs which are now available under a doctor's supervision.  The NIMH further states, "The broad-spectrum activity of most antidepressants provides effectiveness in anxiety disorders as well as depression."  However, Cooper stated, "Having a closer relationship with God can be better than any medication, but always consult a physician."

Medical treatments will address the symptoms associated with the feelings of intense anxiety problems.  Symptoms include irritability for no reason, restlessness, sleep problems, trembling, muscle tension, sweating, and digestive problems.  Anyone who has spent at least six months in a state of excessive worry or who is experiencing anxiety about normal stresses should contact a doctor for a complete health evaluation.  For more information, visit: http://www.christianet.com/articles/
