UK CRM vendor offers free data migration as Sage announces sale of Sage ACT! and SalesLogix to a USA vendor

Reading, England, 15 February 2013

Workbooks.com, a UK based vendor of cloud-based CRM solutions has launched an offer of free data migration* to Sage ACT! and Sage SalesLogix customers just days after Sage announced that it will be selling the two businesses to SwiftPage.

Workbooks already has numerous customers who have moved to them from industry giants such as Salesforce.com and Microsoft Dynamics; offering them greater functionality, flexibility and ease of use. Since the Sage announcement, Workbooks is offering Sages customers an added incentive by offering free data migration from ACT! and SalesLogix to Workbooks.

John Cheney, CEO at Workbooks said, “With Sage abandoning their Act! and SalesLogix customer base we are offering a quick and easy migration process to a more modern, next-generation platform. We feel that we can not only offer these ACT! and SalesLogix customers a system that provides them with broader functionality from a solution that is continuing to evolve and grow, but that we can also offer them a stable vendor relationship and on-going support.”

Marcelo Bustamante, Director at Amstore, a Workbooks customer who moved to Workbooks having previously used Sage SalesLogix said, “Sage served us well for the time that we used the system. The pain areas were linked to the fact that it couldn’t be adjusted to meet our needs in a cost effective or time efficient way… We were instantly attracted to Workbooks for a number of reasons. Not only did it offer easy implementation, but the pricing was also very reasonable and the amount of support and training, both online and human, was very appealing.

“Another key factor was that we wanted to migrate from a land based system to a cloud based system and we felt it was comforting knowing that it was a UK based vendor.”

Cheney continued, “Customers using the hosted version of SalesLogix may also be concerned about the data sovereignty issues this may raise. Like Workbooks, Sage was a British vendor meaning that client data in their cloud was clearly under UK sovereignty. Swiftpage, is a USA firm which will mean that USA data laws apply even to data held within the UK under the Saleslogix systems, a concern recently validated publicly by many other USA cloud providers.”
