Redesigned from the ground up, K-Select 11.0 provides engineers and architects with a program that facilitates the selection of terminal unit products. By appearance alone, its clean, sleek new style organizes selections in a clear manner, making it effortless to begin making standard selections. Once into the product’s configurable options, such as electric heat, details are presented with the same simplicity, all from the same screen. Better yet, the built-in calculation tools and internal validation checks ensure that the selections made are available.
“We are excited to get this new K-Select program into the hands of engineers to show them just how much more efficiently they can make terminal unit selections,” said Paul Christiansen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Krueger-HVAC.
Where the program stands above the rest is with its many time saving features. With just a click of the mouse, an engineer can make a global change, or in other words, change a specific setting or configuration across all the units specified in a particular job. Such changes include an adjustment of the liner type, inlet or downstream static pressures, electric heat voltage, motor type or motor voltage (for fan powered terminal units); for hot water calculations, one can modify the fluid type, percentage of Glycol, or entering water temperature. Another helpful feature is the auto-size function. This allows an engineer to enter a base set of selection criteria, which generates a list of different sized terminal units from which they can choose the one that best meets their requirements. It goes without saying that the improvements made throughout K-Select 11.0 do more than save time, they provide a quick and convenient way to get started and build schedules with little to no instruction.
New and Improved Features in K-Select 11.0
Once selections have been made, generating product and performance information is simple. Available are three different types of reports, the first being a standard project schedule that is organized by unit type. The second offers a more detailed look at each individual unit selection. The final report offers acoustical information for each unit in the form of sound power levels per octave band and NC (Noise Criteria). Additionally, the MCA (Minimum Circuit Ampacity) and MOP (Maximum Overcurrent Protection) values have been added to the project schedule report to provide a more extensive view of each unit’s electrical information. Complete with export options to Microsoft® Excel®, Microsoft® Word®, or Adobe® PDF, engineers will appreciate both the ability to customize the presentation of material as well as the ease of distributing job information.
