The Facts On Norco

Lesser known prescription painkillers are just as dangerous as Vicodin when misused or abused.

As painkiller abuse hits record highs in the U.S., it’s hard to escape hearing about popular prescription drugs like Vicodin or Xanax. Of course, there are many other drugs that are just as dangerous when misused, but they haven’t yet become household names. A generic mix of acetaminophen and hydrocodone is what gives Vicodin its power, but the same active ingredients are found in other brand-name narcotic pain relievers, including Lorcet, Lortab, Maxidone, Zydone and Norco.

Norco Facts

Norco may be the least known name on that list, but it’s becoming a popular prescription medication that doctors use to relieve moderate to severe pain.  Side effects of Norco can include nausea, dizziness, light-headedness and vomiting. As an opiate pain reliever, Norco is powerful and extended use can lead to dependence. For those who become addicted to Norco, they will experience withdrawal symptoms if they don’t continue to take the medication regularly. Often, addiction treatment is needed to restore them to health so they can detox safely and get to the root of any issues that contributed to the abuse.
