NBA Scores from Feb. 7; Vince Carter, Tim Duncan, Chris Bosh, and Dirk Nowitzki lead their teams to wins.
Vince Carter scored 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds and Mikki Moore added 19 points and 6 rebounds as the New Jersey Nets (23-27) beat the Atlanta Hawks (18-30) 87-85. The Nets overcame a poor first quarter in which they scored just 12 points. Josh Smith scored 20 points and had 9 rebounds for the Hawks.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers (28-21) past the Los Angeles Clippers (24-25) 94-77. LeBron James had a poor night shooting, finishing with 11 points but grabbed 7 rebounds in the win. Elton Brand led the Clippers with 21 points and 9 rebounds.
The Seattle Supersonics (18-31) shot 55 percent from the field to beat the Indiana Pacers (26-23) 103-102. Ray Allen scored 33 points and handed out 9 assists for the Sonics while Nick Collison pulled down 10 boards. The Sonics won despite being out-rebounded 53-35. Jamaal Tinsley led the Pacers with 25 points.
Andre Iguodala scored 27 points and had 7 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers (17-33) beat the Charlotte Bobcats (18-31) 92-83. Samuel Dalembert grabbed 13 rebounds while Andre Miller finished with 13 points and 8 assists for Philly. Emeka Okafor and Gerald Wallace each had 16 points and 8 rebounds for the Bobcats.
Tim Duncan finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists and Tony Parker added 20 points to go with his 5 boards, and 6 assists as the San Antonio Spurs (33-16) beat the Washington Wizards (28-20) 110-83. The Spurs jumped to a 17 point lead after the first quarter and never had a problem with the Wizards. Gilbert Arenas finished with 29 points in the loss.
Chris Bosh had a big game with 41 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Toronto Raptors (26-23) past the Orlando Magic (25-25) 113-103. Jose Calderon and T.J. Ford each added 10 points and 11 assists in the Raptors win. Dwight Howard had 32 points and 9 rebounds in the Magic loss.
Dwyane Wade scored 30 points and finished with 9 assists as the Miami Heat (24-25) beat the Boston Celtics (12-36) 91-79. Jason Kapono added 19 points while Udonis Haslem finished with 10 rebounds as the Heat sent the Celtics to their 16th straight loss. The Celtics were actually up 27-17 at the end of the first quarter but were outscored 53-31 in the second and third quarters.
Kevin Garnett recorded a triple-double with 17 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists as the Minnesota Timberwolves (23-26) beat the Golden State Warriors (23-27) 121-93. The Wolves had 7 players score in double figures with Ricky Davis leading the pack with 26 points. Minnesota out-rebounded the Warriors 61-42.
The Dallas Mavericks (40-9) put up 65 first half points and cruised past the Memphis Grizzlies (12-38) 113-97. Dirk Nowitzki finished with 38 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists while Josh Howard had 23 points and 9 rebounds in the Mavericks win. Pau Gasol had 29 points and 9 rebounds for the Grizzlies.
The NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (22-27) used a balanced attack to beat the Denver Nuggets (23-24) 114-112 in overtime. Desmond Mason scored 23 points and had 6 rebounds while Tyson Chandler finished with 10 points and 16 boards for the Hornets. David West and Devon Brown each had 17 points in the win. Allen Iverson scored 22 points in his return while Carmelo Anthony finished with 27 points for the Nuggets.
