Having already drawn big publicity for opening this year’s Grammy Awards show, The Police might make even bigger news with a world tour.
It has been over 20-years since the trio broke up yet they are getting back together to celebrate their 30th anniversary. How that works is a bit unclear, but nonetheless, if it means there back then that’s all that matters.
Sting announced that they would be playing at the Whiskey A Go Go the day after the Grammys and dubbed the show “The Police Rehearsals.”
Last month Sting had said that he had been discussing plans for the 30th anniversary with bandmates Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers. Sting has remained vague about a tour but if it is to happen it should be announced relatively soon.
The Police were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
